HIND helps families and discharge coordinators arrange wheelchair or ambulatory transportation after a hospital stay, subject to the passenger’s needs and availability.
Coordinate before discharge
Share the facility, pickup instructions, intended destination, expected ready time, wheelchair details, and a contact who can coordinate the trip.
Confirm who will assist at the destination. HIND drivers do not enter private homes, so any assistance needed inside must be arranged separately.
Match the service to the passenger
HIND does not provide stretcher transportation or emergency ambulance service. The hospital team should confirm that the passenger’s needs can be accommodated by wheelchair or ambulatory transportation.
If the discharge time changes
Contact HIND as early as possible. Trip availability, waiting arrangements, and applicable charges should be confirmed with the team.
