How to prepare for wheelchair transportation.
Start with your trip details, wheelchair requirements, and the assistance you’ll need at each end of the ride.
1. Confirm the wheelchair fit
HIND’s stated limits are a wheelchair width of 32 inches and a combined passenger-and-wheelchair weight of 400 lb. Tell the team about the chair so suitability can be confirmed before booking.
2. Plan help at home
Drivers do not enter private homes. Arrange any assistance needed inside and agree where you will be ready for pickup.
3. Tell HIND who is traveling
If a caregiver will accompany you, mention this when booking. Up to two accompanying passengers may ride, subject to seating availability, at $15 per person.
4. Arrange the return trip
Discuss the expected appointment duration and whether a return pickup or prearranged waiting is needed. Waiting is charged separately.
5. Read your messages
Check your booking email, follow driver-assignment SMS instructions, and watch for trip-day updates.
